Excellent, all home-made cooking. We had the three terrines, the three truite, the flamiche à l'epoisse, and the boeuf bourguignon, dans la joue du boeuf. Everything was tasty, flavoursome and in short a delight. Please don't go expecting a Michelin, that is not the aim, no snobbishness here, juste French cuisine at it best. Wine list is local, excellent and not overpriced. The café gourmand comes with 4 home made deserts, and with the chef sitting at your table, sharing stories and if you are lucky, even giving some of his secret ingredients! (Yes I will try the sauce ingredient to the bourguignon !) don't go there because of the castle, go to the castle because of this restaurant!

Located across the Chateau Bussy Raboutin is a wonderful option to enjoy local cuisine prepared with local products from their garden. It was a great joy to witness a family run establishment by several generations. Unpretentious, typical restaurant offering a varied menu and excellent service. The Chef made his appearance by several tables to inquire if all was to satisfaction. We recommend this restaurant for the convenience, reasonable prices, and the cuisine. The tomato salad, the “escargots”, lamb, green beans, potatoes “Dauphinoise” and fresh strawberries with cream were all very good. In a simple setting with great food and service, this is the place for lunch before the chateau visit.

French ambiance at its best. An elderly couple with their son (?) run this café în the best style of Fawlty Towers. Charming, chaotic, convivial, cosy, unorganized. Just lovely.

Very nice café next to the hotel which also serves small lunch plateaus.

A nice quaint place right outside the chateau. We did not get a chance to have lunch there as we are too late, but were treated to some nice icecreams. The owner was extremely accommodating. Missed the experience of eating there but will definitely recommend the place just based on the experience I had.

What a surprise to find this delightful gem in a small town whilst waiting to visit the Château Bussy-le-Grand. The owners and staff were so helpful and couldn’t have provided better service. To our surprise the owner had a New York accent and the service staff both spoke English. We enjoyed the salmon terrines, the pates, and local cheese platter. Not to mention fabulous coffee. Highlight of the visit to the chateau. Thank you so much for making our visit so memorable. We visit you the very best of good fortune. Australians in France on the canals

We ate here for my wife's birthday late on a Sunday afternoon with three children (ages 20, 18, 15). The location, atmosphere and food was exactly what my wife was hoping for. The hosts were extremely kind and pleasant to sit and talk to, and the food was excellent; an all-around fantastic place. This is not a large commercial enterprise, if you want to grab something quick for 7€ then go to McDonalds and don’t waste other peoples time complaining. This is a place to sit for a quiet, homemade-style, local French meal after exploring the area and unwind.
